Cortisol, often simply referred to as ‘the stress hormone,' is one of the most powerful hormones our body produces. Made in the adrenal glands, it helps regulate blood sugar levels and metabolism, along with reducing inflammation and supporting memory.
The key to maintaining healthy levels of it lies in stress management, but even then it can be a careful juggling act: Too much cortisol can lead to anxiety and even depression, while too little is linked to nausea, weight loss, and extreme fatigue. External factors like lack of sleep, too much sugar, or just general burnout can also have an effect, driving the whole system out of whack.
To help, we’ve concocted the perfect cortisol-balancing tonic to see you through the holiday season, and beyond. Simple, delicious, and quick to make, it pairs bioavailable antioxidants with adaptogens, like maca, to support the body through times of high stress. An extra jolt of energy comes via guarana seed, which delivers the same amount of caffeine as an espresso—without any nasty post-coffee jitters.
