The Pill: Brighten + Exfoliate

Brighten + Exfoliate

AHAs are alpha hydroxy acids - a class of chemical compounds that can be either naturally occurring or synthetic. Many are derived from organic sugars, with glycolic acid (from sugar cane) and lactic acid (from milk) being the most easily recognized and also best researched. There are six different AHAs, Glycolic acid, Lactic acid, Mandelic acid, Malic acid, Tartaric acid and Citric acid, each works in a slightly different way on the skin, delivering different benefits.

AHAs offer chemical exfoliation as an alternative to manual exfoliation, working primarily by dissolving the bonds between skin cells to allow the removal of dead cells and a subsequently smoother skin surface.

THE PILL uses a blend of Lactic, Glycolic, Citric, Malic and Tartaric Acids to brighten, gently exfoliate and resurface the skin. These are extracted from pineapple, bilberry, sugarcane, citrus and passion fruit. The complex of AHAs used inTHE PILL is shown to increase cellular renewal by up to 24% when compared to an untreated biological control.
